greater-fool 📰

The Newsroom Across the Eras — an episode explorer for rewatches. Live at https://newsroom.inevitable.fyi

Third of the family (moose-and-squirrel · goat-gideon). Because there are only 25 episodes, the chart runs on an episode axis (window.CHART_AXIS = "episode" in data/eras.js): one column per episode, grouped under season headers, so bars can mark exactly which hours cover Genoa, the lawsuit, Boston, election night, and the real-world news each episode dramatizes.

Run

python3 -m http.server 8767    # then open http://localhost:8767

Data

  • data/episodes.json — TVmaze show 151. data/fetch_cast.py + build_cast.py regenerate guest cast.
  • data/eras.js — chart rows (season arc, real news covered, major arcs, antagonists, recurring characters). Ranges are episode indexes 1–25.
  • data/tags.js — curated vibes and character spotlights.

Deploy

ghcr.io/jhgaylor/greater-fool (nginx :8080) via .github/workflows/build.yml (sha-pinned into k8s/deployment.yaml), reconciled by home-cloud Flux. PostHog project "newsroom.inevitable.fyi".
