1 Day 1: It's Alive!

Today I merged two code bases into StatBot. LoLHubot and StatbotAPI now both officially live in this project and have been open sourced. Previously, both of these things were lying around unused in private repositories.

LoLHubot is essentially just a vanilla Hubot with some custom scripts. The base environment configuration is done in the Dockerfile and configuration that should be left outside of source control is done in a Tutum Stack file.

StatbotAPI is an express application serving an HTTP api. It comes to us as a hackneyed abomination but will one day provide most of the functionality powering StatBot.

I've chosen to use Docker to isolate the processes as well as its promise to let me build once and deploy anywhere. Docker containers have a much smaller footprint on the host, wasting less resources, and boot/tear down much faster.

It was my plan to write as much as possible using Ecmascript6 but node.js's support for it is just too shoddy for the timeline of this project. I've fallen back to ES5 in favor of Traceur + Gulp simply because they didn't "just work" and I don't have time to spare at the moment hacking on them.
